Here at the Winston Academy of Golf, we pride ourselves in the positive results of our students. Fortunately, we have had some great success stories and we hope to have many more for years to come. One story that stands out above the rest is the story of legendary NBA Hall-of-famer, Rick Barry. In 2005, the founder of the Academy, met Mr. Barry while performing at a golf tournament for the retired NBA Players Association. After a post-event gala, our founder was giving an exhibition to a number of retired NBA stars, when suddenly Mr. Barry shot to the front of the group. He immediately asked if he could go to the driving range and try to work on the swing that was being demonstrated. Even though it was 10 o'clock at night, the driving range was open very late in Las Vegas.
Within 10 minutes, our founder and Mr. Barry were hitting balls on the range. In no less than 5 minutes, he looked at Mr. Barry and made the following radical exclamation, "Rick, I am going to make you the World Long Drive Champion for your division!". Rick looked back at and laughed as though he was crazy.
After careful guidance from our founder, Rick was taught our unique method for power. Rick recorded the following results in the upcoming years:
2006 - Rick finishes 2nd at the ReMax World Championship(losing by 1 yard to the last guy, last ball)
2007 - Rick WINS the ReMax World Long Drive Championship
2008 - Rick WINS the ReMax World Long Drive Championship
2010 - Rick WINS the ReMax World Long Drive Championship
We believe that results are what truly count, especially when it comes to our client's swings. We look forward to working with you someday, and hope you enjoyed this story as much as we do!!
From World Champions to beginners, we can help!
